The weight of loss

I find myself craving the emptiness that fills up the space that was once you. The burn that follows the anger. Careful, I have to remind myself, for these flames catch and grow quickly. Life itself seems a burden so heavy to hold I shrink under the weight. I look up with a steady gaze and the sky seems to get closer. Space around me moving slower. The song of sadness sung so deeply the heart palpatates to its rhythm.
