Tempting Sea

Haunted by the melody Oh the memory Waves frothing as they play Toes digging into sand The wind tasting like salty tears Bring the corrosion near Near enough to wear me down Oh but it brings a smile not a frown Happiness in the white shores I want more and more Then I look out into the endless water Standing here on its border A little fear rushes through me Something so vast that will always be Still I must go deeper The sky is too blue to protect me Cold arms reach out to keep me I want the sea to win To take me in Then a rolling wave that fills the sky Washes away the breath I cannot deny I struggle for life I must leave her behind Dragging myself into the warm sand Yellow fills my sight again But I know one day I will travel her path Into the deep Into the sea
