Our Calling

You don’t call us to follow because you need it. in fact it’s the exact opposite We wander down life thinking of the troubles but not the fact that we’re the cause of it We go on thinking we got it all handled Not realizing that in reality we’re at the edge of the cliff and we dangle Sometimes we realize and stretch forth our hands but not to righteousness and truth To everything but. To lust money and booze We’re living aimlessly, living to break the rules Living for the flesh how can we be such fools Trading everlasting joy, for some worldly toys Intermittent pleasure designed to destroy We need to focus on the light And not lose sight Call on him on the darkness of nights for the will to fight Call for the strength of David and slay your Goliath Live a prosperous life not one of defiance Keep your eyes on the prize On the living Christ who died Just to rise on the third day to save our lives From our self inflicting demise God wipe my eyes Help me see the disguise Of the father of lies
