Love Ends

Like love that come as still as night,

And strikes the heart full and bright,

Take my hand and hold it.

Hold it like you hold your life.

For when war comes and you be lone ...

You remember that you are my wife.

And like the raven

   black and sullen,

Do not cry

when you hear that I have fallen.

But please now do

   say goodbye

For even love like night

must give way to mourning light

Love Ends
