Like a Shadow

LIKE A SHADOW

Austin G. Ogbenigho Odiri

Like a shadow to no wife

Fret comes giving sleep restlessness

Accompany by loneliness  rife

I had drunk tonight love coldness

Tonight am robbed of a whole

So she is gone my heart have a hole

And I ran into sea I stayed on the sea

Quite informed I sleep in pea

Then came a time I must choose

Who to stay who loose

Free from shame

Or be with tame

La-cuna caress my nostril airs

I look up and stand my hairs

I ran from a day old day

And I had found a day old may

Quiet matured I became an infant

With the only smile I still have

That keeps me from shyness

Of these rose betrothed to thee

Who I can no longer find

Take now if thee must

My hand covered with love frost

Tonight is tonight were we must return

The smiles

Of each other with a gift in red

Thou hands had hide from me

I never heard of it from earth

Now she comes back a forgotten

To plows my rights

Regimes fracture our passion

And some ends their mission

But these should not depart from thee

Someday somehow someone shall

Remember me in true remembrance.

Me who you taught to loathe
