Liberty Aftermath

Liberty Aftermath                 - Austin Ogbenigho Odiri

The angry night showed

Her handsome face from the pregnant cloud

With leaden babies kissing her feet

Right through her shot loud

The stillborns, care and excitement

Gushing out like little lot

From their throat!

O’ why I quote;

Peace be to peacemakers

War to the seekers

Love do the scariest thing

Bitter is promising regime

Slaves are better-off for thrones

Elites are impulsive stones

Friends are enemy.

I have been offered myrrh

I can see nights than nights,

Will ever lights shines from nights?

O’ brawling love, O’ loving hate

O’ anything of nothing first create

The daisies grow by side

Of desolate mountain

Uprooted by men of selfish wanton,

Woebegone, woebegone, woebegone

See what our extorting hands has done

Are masses reabsorbing knotted foodies?

For glory of shameless days,

Acidic wines drinkers?

And the rile that runs

Through our veins

For the uncountable years of darkness

For our lands mis-configuration and degradation

Love for wealth draw us far from our bloods

And thro’ us off recognition

Love for wealth stroll’s us back

To the very end step

And I must know

Nothing is permanent

Not even our troubles

Not even our disgrace

Know please and please release,

Our regency is celestial love abound.
