If Only You Knew

Walking down the scales of rhyme
Time slows and effervescent glow
Bubbling the words from within
Unto the page
Little do you know
Your gift lives in the garden
Seeding and nurturing my thoughts
Until what began as a simple poem of joy
Became a story for you
A metaphor for the impact
You placed in me.
