An hour by the hour

Over six thousand hours have passed
This, this hour now is one of them
For one of thousands since we parted
To give your existence life in spirit
Alas can a lifetime together be true
Your still with me I feel you
I hear your whispers preying on my state
To enter my body and travel to mind
Convincing my darkened soul
Believing you can enrich my very veins
I miss you caressing my throat and igniting my fight
Shouldering my burdens in the night
Taking away my fear and despair
Left with nothing to care
For on this hour and many to come
I remember the ill as well as the good
The clock does strike to begin the hour
And with it the last
You remain but my past.

An hour by the hour
