Hung

I was full of chemicals and my tongue was ablaze,

I spat and I slurred as he stared at me dazed.

I used alcohol as fuel.

But it was a one off, it wasn’t a mule.

The relationship was broken, the relationship was burnt

but water couldn’t calm me, why hadn’t he learnt?

Again I went for the bottle as he stared in disgust,

I just couldn’t take it so my fists began to thrust.

One hit, two hits, three hits, four…

“Just one more” I said “Just one more”.

As I grimaced at his half dead body I stumbled back,

feeling around for something heavy and hard then - WHACK.

Dead.

Gone.

Forever.

And that it why I’m standing here today,

With this rope around my neck which is beginning to fray.

As I stand here confidently rocking the chair,

I know I won’t being going to heaven – no one’s waiting for me there.

My father used to say “She’s a live wire, ain’t nothin’ gonna hurt ‘er”

But look daddy, look;

Here goes Karma.
