“Carry Me Home”

“Carry Me Home”

Carry me home if I fall in battle

I need to know you won’t leave me behind

Carry me home with my fallen brothers

Who fought and who died by my side

Don’t grieve for me I’m not lost or forgotten

I’m goin home to the ones that I love

Don’t grieve for me I’m proud to be counted

As one who has fought for the country they love

I’m just a man I’m not a hero

I only fought for what I believe

My fear of losing our blessed freedom

Gives me the strength and the will that I need

Carry me home if I fall in battle

Cover me with the flag that I love

Bury me with dignity and honor

Next to my brothers in arms
