LIFE IN REPEAT

LIFE IN REPEAT

not one man can stare for long at the sun

or know at any time when his life is done

at the one haunted hour of his own death

hardly anytime to suck in your last breath

unless it s true an egoistic suicide planned

choosing a last sun gaze in your own hand

living life in many blurred dizzy balances

Determinism versus chaos is are choices

The final outcome is not ever guaranteed

black robed scytheman’s cold hand deed

hear behind you his heartless rasping voice

knowing surely there’s absolutely no choice

a deep, deep abyss hides a monstrous terror

beneath the dark old cloak of human error

uncertain of your life’s pure simple chance

No anticipation is given in time’s romance

uncontrolled happenings will determine it

our own destiny lies unknown and will sit

just inside your future’s history still to come

but in the end you may stare back at some

the delight and security of your repetition

in our everyday lives it gives destination

and offers secure succour to our very soul

helping to make us very strangely whole

customs and habits offer certain purpose

make certain sense of life’s crazy circus

our own future will often resemble the past

the die will be thrown, the dye will be cast

your lives in repetitive safety can be stated

gregarious normality not unexpectedly fated

fill our day with regularly repeated actions

siren’s contingent song holds no distractions
