Ignored

I wrote a poem today.

 I tried to tell you.
I tried to read it to you.
I stared into your eyes and read it.

You stared back
but you could not hear,

You could not see.
You were completely ignoring me.

I watched
you sat there
You lied,
Saying it was great.

I asked you if you agreed with the woman's fate,
 You said yes.
There was no woman in my poem.

I'm hurt that you don't pay attention to me
I'm hurt when you just agree with me.

Can't you talk to me?
Can't you listen to me?
Can you even see me?
I'm your daughter.

I read you a poem today.
