Home Coming

HOME COMING

Cold and seemingly unending nights

A long time off shore

Forgetting the very sights of dry lands

At every chance of a breath

We long the families we left

Memories of mothers and wives

Their farewells to sons and husbands

With expressions not certain

In them our hope is made living

Win one win all

Every soldier a shadow

The giant slayer is labeled in the archives

But the victory encompass us all

Home coming

Matching feet echoes our arrival

Our victory we horn

Our deads we carry

Our families we embrace

Our sons are grown

As infants we recognized them last

As spear-bearers they are introduced

Time shall pass to them turns

And their return, our graves shall welcome

Blissful night

Drunken soldiers

Victorious songs

Beautiful women

A soldier – whether born or made

Deserves home coming
