Eyes of Today

I dont want to see tomorrow Through the eyes of today A day where peace and equality Are met with violence and hate A day where logic and justice Are met with senseless debate. A day where people are scared Because they dont look the same. Its disgusting to think This is what we became I dont want to see tomorrow, Through the eyes of today. But our voices are strong And together we're one This is a powerful movement That's far from being done We will march everyday Shout, yell and even sing Until All men are created equal Actually means a damn thing I long to see that tomorrow Through the eyes of today I yearn to be a people Where all are truly free Where my brothers and sisters Have the same privileges as me Peace and unity for all Is the only requirement Well that, police reform And an uprooted government Forget the status quo The old ways must be gone We deserve so much more We're no longer your pawn I want to see tomorrow, Through the eyes of that today. So continue to push Move on and be loud So the world full of haters Sees what makes us so proud Diversity that's celebrated And uniqueness that's praised Is precisely the place that I want my kids to be raised So help me to create a home where we proudly stand and say I want to see tomorrow Through the eyes of today
