Love’s Just Half the Answer
Our emotions had said it all.
Our hearts sent no mixed messages,
Couldn’t ignore writings on the wall.
The way I felt about you too,
There was nothing else I could do
Than to give vengeance to those feelings,
And move in together with you.
No-one was able to stop me,
I saw red when Mom and Dad tried.
Now after just six months of it,
Reality’s taken me for a ride.
Love’s just half the answer,
Searching for love-life all this while.
It’s even more complicated,
When we’re expecting our first child.
Love’s just half the answer,
It’s as though love was just the bait
To get us hooked going all out for it,
While stupid Cupid closed the gate.
In our reality checks, we’d often get vexed.
Love would disappear out of context.
Bills of life kept getting sky high,
At times we could hardly have sex.
Bridges were burnt, nowhere to turn,
We stood on our own two feet to learn.
Demented and torn, we could have sworn
We were at hell’s gate, ready to burn.
Then we had one more mouth to feed,
Knocking some senses into our heads.
We cut and pasted all we could,
But were forever in the red.
Something said better days ahead.
But deep inside, we just couldn’t hide,
We felt we were better off dead.
Love’s just half the answer,
Searching for love-life all this while,
It’s even more complicated,
When we’re expecting our first child.
Love’s just half the answer,
It’s as though love was just the bait,
To get us hooked going all out for it,
